Food For Thought VI

Society today is very quick to discourage prejudging someone based on the way they are dressed, or how they behave. Instead, we are to get to know someone and judge them based on the content of their character rather than appearances. And this is all well and good in most circumstances.

However, lets say you come up across this couple here.

<—-

Would it be irrational to assume they are into the whole “goth” thing? And not only that, but would it then be too much to assume they would also be into other aspects of the goth culture, like mutilation, and emotional instability?

It’s true that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, but when someone goes so far out of their way to put themselves into a stereotype, wouldn’t the best thing to do be to assign the other attributes of said stereotype? In fact, it seems that would be exactly what the person in question would want. Just a thought.

Food For Thought V

startrekshirt.comEver heard the question “Could God create a boulder he couldn’t lift?”. It’s a common question posed by atheists to stump theists about the nature of God. If you ever find yourself in that situation, here is what you should say: “What does the color green smell like?”. They will initially look puzzled and then say that green doesn’t make a smell, and they would be right.

Asking what the color of green smells like is an illogical question, because it doesn’t have a smell. Similarly, asking if an INFINITE being could be limited by THEIR OWN powers in the form on a FINITE object is illogical. Something to keep in mind.

Everywhere I go, whether it be the store, school, or the bank, I notice Braille on all the signs. My question is whether they have to wander around in order to find these signs. It seems to me that if you know where the sign is, that you already know whats going on, but that’s just me.

IQIt would be aggravating to be one of the people who make the IQ tests. They technically have the highest IQ’s because they know all the answers, but no one would take those results seriously considering who they are…
